The 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, the 25th event hosted by the International Handball Federation, will be held in Spain in 2021.[1]
Bidding process
Spain and Hungary bids for the right to organise the 2021 Women's World Handball Championship. The International Handball Federation decided that voting for the selection of host country will be done during the 2017 World Men's Handball Championship in a IHF Council meeting held in Paris (France) on 28 January 2017.
Spanish delegation was represented by Dr. Francisco V. Blázquez García (President of Royal Spanish Handball Federation), Mr. Alejandro Blanco Bravo (President of Spanish Olympic Committee), Mr. Josep Mayoral i Antigas (Mayor of Granollers), Mr. David Barrufet (Handball Director of FC Barcelona Handbol, Ms. Marta Mangué (Captain of the Spain women's national handball team), Mr. Iker Romero (Men’s Handball Ambassador of Royal Spanish Handball Federation), Ms. Laura Steinbach (former Germany women's national handball team player and currently playing and living in Granollers), Mr. Josep Blanchart (Manager of Club Balonmano Granollers). The President of Royal Spanish Handball Federation confirmed that full support is granted by the Olympic Movement, Spanish government and the handball community. The Spanish government has guaranteed the introduction of all the necessary measures so that the event is celebrated in a full security setting, with special attention paid to key infrastructures for the staging of the competitions and to IHF operations, its subsidiaries and delegations from different countries.
The Hungarian delegation was represented by Dr. László Szabó (Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade), His Excellency Mr. György Károlyi (Ambassador of Hungary in Paris), Mr. László Marosi (Vice-President of Hungarian Handball Federation), Sándor Andorka (President of HHF International Commission, former top international referee, delegate and Commission member), Adrienn Szücs (Deputy Chief of Cabinet). The bid includes the following six host cities/venues:

The 2021 Women's World Handball Championship was awarded to Spain by a secret ballot of voting by the IHF Council members.
