The 2002 Stan James World Matchplay was a darts tournament held in the Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

Sponsored by UK bookmaker Stan James, the tournament ran from 28 July–3 August 2002, and was won by Phil Taylor.

Taylor also made history during the tournament by hitting the first live televised nine-dart finish on British TV, during his quarter-final win over Chris Mason. which won him £100,000, a lot more than the £15,000 he got for winning the tournament.
