2001 FIA GT Championship
Previous: 2000 Next: 2002

The 2001 FIA GT Championship season was the 5th season of FIA GT Championship racing. It featured a series open to Grand Touring cars broken into two classes, GT and N GT, based on power and manufacturer involvement. The season began on 31 March 2001 and ended on 21 October 2001 after 11 races. The following titles awarded:

  • 2001 FIA GT Championship for Drivers
  • 2001 N GT Cup for Drivers
  • 2001 FIA GT Championship for Teams
  • 2001 N GT Cup for Teams

Drivers Championship

GT Standings

Points towards the 2001 FIA GT Championship for Drivers were awarded to the top six GT class finishers at each round in the order of 10–6–4–3–2–1 except at the Spa 24 Hours race, where double points were awarded.

The title was awarded jointly to Christophe Bouchut and Jean-Philippe Belloc who shared the wheel of the No 7 Chrysler Viper GTS-R entered by the Larbre Competition – Chereau team.

N-GT Standings

Points towards the 2001 N GT Cup for Drivers were awarded to the top six N GT class finishers in the order of 10–6–4–3–2–1 at each round except at the Spa 24 Hours race, where double points were awarded.

The title was awarded jointly to Christian Pescatori and David Terrien who drove the No 62 Ferrari 360 Modena entered by JMB Competition.
