The 1983–84 Gonzaga Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Gonzaga University from Spokane, Washington in the 1983–84 season. Led by head coach Jay Hillock, the bulldogs managed a 17-11 record,[1] which, although not quite enough to qualify for the NCAA Tournament, still put on a showing for Gonzaga supporters. This team is largely remembered for one player: John Stockton. The then-senior point guard was the team leader throughout the season. Despite flying well below the national radar for the majority of not only this season, but his three previous seasons with Gonzaga; Stockton managed to be selected 16th overall by the Utah Jazz, for whom he would be named to the NBA All-Star Game ten times, make two appearances in the NBA Finals, and be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
