1936 Peruvian Primera División

Primera División Peruana
Season 1936
1935
1937

The 1936 season of the Primera División Peruana was an amateur Tournament (“Division de Honor”) of Lima and Callao (non official) but organized by F.P.F.

No official tournament took place, because of the participation of the Peruvian National Team in the 1936 Olympic Games soccer tournament.

The sports spirit had much to do in the realization of the championship of 1936. It should be remembered that soccer in Peru was amateur, so that all football activity was more a social goal than an economic one. In the case of Lima, the performance of the main teams in the capital was missed for much of the year, so it was convenient to give activity to all players who were not considered in the squad that traveled to the Copa América of Argentina in 1937. In short, the tournament was basically played to generate domestic competition, and the title of champion was awarded as an incentive goal.
