First-seeded Helen Wills defeated Betty Nuthall 6–1, 6–4 in the final to win the Women's Singles tennis title at the 1927 U.S. National Championships. The event was held at the West Side Tennis Club, Forest Hills, New York City. It was Will's fourth U.S. National singles title, equaling the record set by Molla Bjurstedt.[1] She won the title without losing a set and only lost 18 games in her six matches.[2]
