William Clothier defeated Maurice McLoughlin 7–5, 6–4, 9–11, 6–3 in the All Comers' Final of the 1909 U.S. Men's National Singles Championship.[2] Defending champion William Larned won the Challenge Round against William Clothier 6–1, 6–2, 5–7, 1–6, 6–1.[3] The event was held at the Newport Casino in Newport, R.I., USA.[1][4]
