1851–1855 Yellow River floods

1851 Yellow River flood occurred from 1851 to 1855. At the end of the flood the Yellow River changed its course to the north, thereafter emptying directly into the Yellow Sea rather than out of its inlet, the Bohai Sea.[1] This natural disaster is thought to have been a major cause of the Taiping Rebellion and Nian Rebellion.
