Interactions between groups

This field examines the reasons and motives behind hostility between groups. The realistic group conflict theory sees group conflict as a conflict of goals. The Intergroup contact hypothesis stresses the notion that group conflict could be defused if both groups had more contact with one another, such as through the Robber's Cave experiment.

Intergroup behavior

The general study of behavior between groups. One theory is the Social identity theory of intergroup behavior.
