This book is a guide for anyone who would like to learn how to program a game using the program RPG Maker 2003. It will give you the ability to create maps, make unique characters and items, code special events, and much more. It will introduce every concept (to the best of it's ability) from the blatantly obvious to those much more in depth.

Make sure you don't get confused. This book will probably be of NO help whatsoever for RPG Maker 2000 or RPG Maker VX, as well for any other future or past versions. It specifically focuses on functions within the RPG Maker 2003 version. So before you start, make sure that the version you are using is, indeed, RPG Maker 2003. If not, I recommend you close this book now before you do more harm than good.

It will try its best to give you all of the information needed to create your video game, so good luck, and be the best game maker you can be!

The Interface

RPG Maker 2003 is a program to help you make RPGs, so to make it simpler, it created a very simple interface to use. Just about everything you'll need to start is already included with your RPG Maker program CD, but if it isn't, you should be able to download it off of the internet.
