Selecting Top-level Domain Names

Selecting a set of top-level domain names is of the several ways to limit the scope of search. The following steps do the trick:

How to select or clear top-level domains
  1. Select the menu command [Automation » Web Search] to bring up the Web Search Automation (WSA) wizard.
  2. To search all websites, clear the input field, Level1 domains, which is on the first page of the WSA wizard.
  3. To search only .COM, .NET and .GOV websites, enter the following CSV string without quotes: "com, net, gov".
  4. Press the Save button.

Demo Section

The following procedure shows you that the resulting web search would not have good results because we use aaa, bbb and ccc as the only top-level domain names allowed in web search. All results are bad because all links have unexpected top-level domain, i.e. not one of the following: aaa, bbb and ccc. To review the trace log, select [View » Trace Log], see sample trace log.
