Why learn Pashto? - An introduction to the language and its speakers

Pashto is the native language of the Pashtun people who live in Afghanistan and western Pakistan. There are estimated to be 50-60 million Pashto speakers around the world. Pashto is a member of the Indo-European language family, in the Indo-Iranian branch. Thus, it is related to languages such as Hindi, Urdu, Dari, Kurdish, and Persian.
