Here are some ways to say directions:

  • Gā... - Go...
    • ...tō þǣre sƿīðran healfe - ...right
    • ...tō þǣre ƿystran healfe - ...left
    • ...rihte forþ - ...straight ahead
  • Ƿend... - Turn...
    • ...in þā strǣte - ... down that street
    • ...tō þǣre sƿīðran healfe - ...right
    • ...tō þǣre ƿystran healfe - ...left
    • ...on bæċ - ...around/back

Adjectives of position

  • ufeƿeard - upper part of
  • neoðanƿeard - lower part of

Example: is se heals gréne neoðeƿeard and ufeƿeard the lower and upper parts of the neck are green

Adjectives of time

The same adjectives could be used to describe time periods as well:

  • ufeƿeard - latter part of
  • foreƿeard - early part of
  • Example: on foreƿeardne sumor and eft on ufeƿeardne hærfest in the early part of the summer and again in the latter part of autumn
