- The first meter was placed into use in 1924.
- Meter manufacturers in France: CAMP, CGA, EMD/CAMP, GAPA, Graphotaxe, Havas, LOGABAX, Neopost (originally a British company, bought by French SMH/Alcatel with name change to NEOPOST SA), Satas, Secap, SERCEM, SMH/Alcatel.
