THE HAGGADAH

“THE TELLING OF THE PASSOVER STORY”

“You must keep this ordinance at the appointed time year after year" (Ex.13:8-10).

INTRODUCTION

Passover is the night God delivered His people from Egyptian bondage and slavery, and from the powers of darkness that ruled over the land of Egypt. Just as they were delivered from the power of the enemy and set free from bondage and slavery, so Y'shua has delivered us from the enemy of our souls and set us free from bondage and slavery to sin in a new type of Passover.

"Now this day shall be a memorial to you, and you shall celebrate it as a feast to Yahweh; throughout your generations you are to celebrate it as a permanent ordinance."Exodus 12:14, NAS

"This was a night when Yahweh kept vigil to bring them out of the land of Egypt, and this same night continues to be a night when Yahweh keeps vigil for all the people of Israel through all their generations." Exodus 12:42 Complete Jewish Bible

The focus of Passover is the Blood of the Lamb which is represented in the four cups which we drink tonight.

"The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt." (Exodus 12:13)

The eternal principles of God's salvation are illustrated and explained in the Passover Meal.

The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Cor 5:7-8, "For Messiah, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, .. .. .. with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth"

The Passover story also gives us the blueprint for "the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time" (1 Peter 1: 5)

It is a story of our past redemption and a future one yet to come. Passover was, and is, a shadow of what was to come in the first coming by the death of Messiah and also of God's end time judgements and redemption of the earth.

CHEMETZ - SEARCH FOR LEAVEN

Yahweh commanded us to keep this feast by eating unleavened bread for seven days and to remove all yeast from our dwellings (Exod 12:15; 13:7) So in compliance with His command we have searched this place/house and removed the leaven. Yeast is a symbol of the deception of untruth and its corruptive influence which leads to sin. Paul wrote in First Corinthians, "Clean out the old leaven of wickedness and malice from your hearts" (Matthew 15:18; 1 Corinthians 5:7). So we are keeping this night in honour of "him who loved us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father; to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. " Revelation 1:5-6

(Optional - Worship song about the Blood of the Lamb)

If there is any leaven that may still be here, which has not been removed, I declare it null and void and separated from this Passover.

BLOW SHOFAR 3 times

You have commanded us to keep this Passover as a MOED, an appointed time to meet with You to remember our salvation and to renew the covenant once again with You that we made when we accepted Y'shua as our sacrificial lamb to atone for our sins. We thank You for Your truth and that You have brought us to this day of remembrance. Amen The celebration of this Passover points to Y'shua the Messiah, who saved us from the power and bondage of sin, by coming as our Saviour and Redeemer. He became the Passover Lamb in His death, resurrection and ascension into heaven as the lamb of God. We enthrone Him as King of kings and Lord of lords here tonight and celebrate this feast in anticipation of that great day of our final redemption when He returns to take us to be with Him forever! Hallelujah!

LIGHTING OF THE CANDLES

three candles are used

Y'shua said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12)We light the candles here tonight as a token of the spiritual illumination He has given us in keeping His commandments. Just as Y'shua as the light of the world was born into the world by a woman, so the woman is given the honour of lighting the candles to set apart this evening to Yahweh our God. Let us pray together and invite the presence of Y'shua into our celebration. Blessed art Thou, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sent Thy Son, Thine Only Son, Y'shua the Messiah, to be the light of the world and our Paschal Lamb, that through him we might live. Amen. Hebrew (Baruch ata Yahweh, El-o-hay-nu mel-ech ha-o-lam, She-sha-lach et bin-'e-cha y-'e-chid-'e-cha, Y'shua Ha-Ma-shi-ach, lih-'e-yot or ha-o-lam, v-'e-she hap-pes-ach, she-lan-u l-'e-ma-an nich-'e-yeh biz-'e-chuto. Amen) We set this evening apart and welcome You into our gathering tonight. (Light the candles) Let your light shine upon us!

AARONIC BLESSING

Numbers 6:23-26

THE SYMBOLIC CUPS OF PASSOVER

During this celebration we will drink four cups ~ According to Rabbi Yohanon and Rabbi Benayah, these four cups correspond to the four verbs in Exodus 6:6-7 stating the four promises Yahweh made to the Hebrews in the Exodus "I will bring you out, I will rescue you from bondage, I will redeem you, and I will take you as My people" (NKJV). The titles of the four cups are a progressive, four-step prophetic plan of His redemptive plan and represent the overview of our complete salvation, from our initial call to come to repentance to the final consummation of our betrothal to Him at the marriage supper of the Lamb. The last, fourth cup, extends to the fulfilment of the New Covenant promises in the Millenium and beyond. Cup #1 The cup of sanctification "I am Yahweh, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.” In this He separated & brought us out from the world and the dominion of Satan Cup #2 The cup of deliverance “I will deliver you from being slaves to them, and “ In this He delivered us from the enemy and the power of sin in our lives Cup #3 The cup of Redemption “I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgement.” In this He paid the ransom price and purchased us with His blood giving us new life Cup #4 The cup of glorification “I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. “ He will come and take us to Himself, completing our redemption - body, soul and spirit “ Then you will know that I am Yahweh your God, “

CUP 1 THE CUP OF SANCTIFICATION

Leader: "I will bring you out"

This is the cup of Sanctification which is called a KIDDUSH, or the cup of blessing and represents us being called out of this world - Yahweh redeemed and delivered Israel from the world and its influence and brought them unto Himself so that they could serve Him and be a holy people, set-apart to Him. On the night of Y'shua's betrayal He said, 'I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfilment in the kingdom of God.' After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, 'Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.' " (Luke 22:14-18) With this cup we set this night aside, as different than all other nights and sanctify and dedicate it to Yahweh our Eternal God. Blessed are You, Yahweh our eternal God, who has chosen us and given us Your commandments and appointed times to bring forth the fruit of the Vine and has sanctified us by your Word that we might abide in you forever. (John 14:1-5) Let us all drink the cup of sanctification with joy and give praise to God - We drink the first cup!

UR'CHATZ - CEREMONIAL HAND-WASHING

(Bowl of water with towel)

Before any person was to enter the temple they observed a ritual of washing. As we enter His Presence this night we immerse our hands as a ritual cleansing from all the contamination of the things of this world. Read Psalm 24: 3-5 Now we all symbolically wash our hands in preparation for eating the Passover elements. Please pass the bowl around the table. Leader prays Blessed art Thou, Yahweh, our eternal God, Who has sanctified us by Your Word and by the blood of Y'shua, the Lamb of God, and has commanded us concerning the immersion of our hands. (ceremonial cleansing)

KARPAS - DESIGNATING OUR ALLEGIANCE

Symbol of life

This is a traditional Appetiser taken at feasts to symbolise that we are partakers of His life. This feast is intended to impart new life to us by renewing our covenant vows with Y'shua. We take a green plant (parsley) and we dip it into vinegar (or salt water) and eat. The plant is symbolic of the hyssop which the Hebrews used to place the lamb's blood on their doorposts. The salt water is symbolic of the tears of suffering under bondage in Egypt (a type of the world) and when we were slaves to sin. The custom of serving karpas dates back to Jerusalem of the first and second centuries, when it was common to begin a formal meal or a feast by passing around vegetables as hors d'oeuvres. The vegetable was dipped into salt water before eating.

MA-NISHTANAH THE FOUR QUESTIONS

The Significance of the Passover

Yahweh said, "In the future, your children will ask you, 'What does all this mean?' Then you will tell them, 'With mighty power Yahweh brought us out of Egypt from our slavery." Exodus 13:14 NLT Hebraic tradition contemplates the response of four types of sons as of four different types of soil which Y'shua outlined into which the message of salvation will be sown. There is the wise son who is the good soil, the simple who lacks depth (rocky ground), the uncommitted son caught up in the things around him and the wicked son from whom the demonic forces steal the word. And so, the story of deliverance is told to relive the exodus and implant the message firmly into hearts and minds for the next generation. So we address the questions - Why is this meal different to all other meals? and What is the meaning of the bitter herbs, the unleavened bread and of the Lamb? (Hold up each of the emblems as explaining) Rabbi Gamaliel (Paul's teacher) said that a leader's obligation was not fulfilled until he had explained the emblems fully. Yahweh said, "With unleavened bread and bitter herbs, they shall eat the Passover sacrifice." This Meal – This night in this Passover meal we commemorate the exodus out of Egypt when Yahweh brought us out of bondage and provided Y'shua as the Lamb without spot or blemish to atone for our souls.

Bitter herbs - We eat bitter herbs to remind us of the bitter slavery our ancestors experienced when they were oppressed by the Egyptian taskmasters. We also experienced the bitterness of slavery and bondage to Satan in his dominion over us before we accepted Y'shua into our life. Bitter herbs are also a cleansing agent and as we eat the bitter herbs we are reminded that the consequences of the bondage to sin are bitter and we need to be cleansed from its evil influence by His Word. The bitter herbs also remind us of the suffering Y'shua endured for us in order to set us free. (Hebrews 2:9) By dipping the bitter herbs in the Charoset, we remember that even the most bitter experiences can be made sweet in our Saviour.

The Unleavened Bread - We eat unleavened bread tonight to remember that because they had to leave Egypt in haste, they had no time to leaven the bread. We must also be unleavened and leave behind everything of our old life so as to be uncontaminated by the influence of this world and worship Him in sincerity and truth. (1 Cor.5:6-8)

The Lamb - God commanded Israel to take a lamb for a household on the tenth day of Nisan and set it aside until the fourteenth day when it's blood was to be placed upon the door-posts. It was to be eaten by those within the house so the death angel would pass over (Ex. 12:1-13). It was to be a lamb without spot or blemish. Y'shua was the Lamb of God and as such was spotless, without blemish and without sin. During the final week of His life, Y'shua was examined by many people: The chief priests - Pilate - Herod - Annas the high priest - Caiaphas, the high priest - Judas - The Centurion - The repentant thief John declared of Him - "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29) He was the sacrificial Lamb which atoned for our sins and procured our salvation. Since Y'shua became our Passover Lamb we no longer eat the Lamb but have here the shankbone of the lamb (zeroa in Hebrew) which represents “the mighty arm” of God (His Son), who brought us all forth from the hand of the enemy.

THE MAGGID - THE PASSOVER STORY

Yahweh called Abraham out of the land of Babylon to the land of Ca'anan where he with Isaac and Jacob, partakers of the same promise, lived as strangers and pilgrims in this world. To avoid a terrible famine, Joseph was taken to Egypt and placed in the position to provide food during a great famine for our people. They came and dwelt in Egypt and many years later, a Pharaoh arose who did not know Joseph and he oppressed the children of Israel, forcing them into cruel slavery. From out of the burning bush, Yahweh called Moses to lead the Exodus of His people out of Egypt into the promised land of Israel. Pharaoh did not want to let the people go and there were many plagues visited upon the Egyptians to force them to let His people go. Finally, after ten great plagues of God's judgement, Pharaoh let them go, though he changed his mind many times. It was only after the last plague with the death of the firstborn of the sons of Egypt, that deliverance came. It was at this time that the Passover Meal was first eaten. The angel of death passed over the houses which had the sign of the blood of the sacrificial lamb upon them, but the sons of Egypt were destroyed. Though Pharaoh let the people go, he sent his armies to try to recapture them and it was then that God opened up the Red Sea so that Israel could pass through. Pharaoh's men followed, and drowned when the waters returned, and Israel was set free.

We who have trusted in Y'shua, the Messiah, believe He is the Lamb of God, our Passover. Like the ancient Israelites, we know that it was Yahweh Himself, who achieved final redemption from sin and death. It was Y'shua, the Lamb of God, who died on the mountain of God (in the same place where Isaac was offered), at 3 in the afternoon, exactly when they were slaughtering the Passover lambs in the temple. Yahweh himself provided the sacrifice that took our place and through the Passover of the Lamb of God we have been made free. By the blood of the lamb was Israel spared. By the blood of the lamb was Jacob redeemed. By the blood of the lamb was death made to pass over.

CUP 2 THE CUP OF DELIVERANCE

"I will free you" Representing the ten plagues

Religion in ancient Egypt was a complex polytheism that covered every aspect of their life being dominated by one of their deities. The ten plagues were direct challenges to the worship of the Egyptians deities who were thought to protect Egyptian life and property. In this way the supremacy of Yahweh, was demonstrated over all of their gods as every one of their deities was overthrown by Yahweh's judgements.

It has become a tradition to not drink this cup but instead to remind ourselves of these plagues and the blood that was spilt, by taking some drops of wine and sprinkling a drop of wine for each plague on a plate, as we recount the ten plagues (use finger or spoon).

A full cup symbolizes fullness of joy and we rejoice tonight in the deliverance that Yahweh provided then and has extended toward us today, but we don't rejoice in what it cost to procure that deliverance for us. Neither as believers in Y'shua, is our joy complete as long as so many are still in bondage to sin, so we diminish our cup to show that our joy is incomplete because of these things.

(The leader takes his cup and as he recites each plague he drops a drop of wine out of it: - saying)

These are the ten plagues which the Most Holy, brought upon the house of Egypt. Blood, frogs, lice, swarms of insects, cattle disease, boil, hail, locusts, darkness, slaying of the first born! (Hebrew - Dam, Tzfardeiyah, Kinim, Arov, Dever, Sh'chin, Barad, Arbeh, Choshech, Makat b'chorot.) When Y'shua went into the Garden of Gethsemane on the night of His betrayal, He drank this bitter cup for us. As He agonised in prayer He sweat great drops of blood wrestling with the powers of darkness that came against Him in that hour of trial, to come to that place where He said, "Not my will, but thine be done". On the Stake itself the sin of the whole world and every curse from sin was placed upon Him, and He went through that to set us free. He took the wrath of God upon Himself for our sin. Y'shua went to the execution stake to set us free from the judgements which were due to come upon us, for our sin. Let us now dip a finger in the fruit of the vine as a symbol of the bowl of God's wrath which Y'shua took upon Himself for us. We all have sinned and come short of His glory by breaking His commandments. The drops of wine represent the blood that was spilt for our salvation. As I repeat the ten commands, let us spill one drop of wine for each of the commandments which we have broken, to remember the agony Y'shua went through on the torture stake to set us free. (Recite the ten commands Exodus 20:2-17 while spilling the drops of wine – one for each command) NOT LOVING HIM WITH ALL OUR MIND - ALL OUR SOUL - ALL OUR HEART - ALL OUR STRENGTH HAVING IMAGES OF OTHER THINGS IN OUR LIFE WHICH WE WORSHIP NOT REVERING AND HONOURING THE NAME OF YAHWEH NOT KEEPING THE SABBATH DAY NOT HONOURING OUR MOTHER AND OUR FATHER HAVING HATRED IN OUR HEART OR THINKING EVIL OF OUR BROTHER HAVING ADULTEROUS THOUGHTS OR FEELINGS OR BEHAVIOUR TOWARD THE OPPOSITE SEX STEALING FROM OTHERS WHAT BELONGS TO THEM SPEAKING FALSELY AGAINST YOUR NEIGHBOUR BEING COVETOUS, JEALOUS OR ENVIOUS OF SOMEONE ELSE AND WHAT THEY HAVE

This cup reminds us that we unable able to save ourselves from wrath and judgement and we must have the blood of the Messiah, the Passover Lamb, applied in faith to the door-posts of our hearts to 'pass over' from death to life. "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love in whom we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:12,13 NKJV Let's declare our freedom from these things "Knowing that we were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from our forefathers, but with precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, (1Peter 1:18-19)

“Therefore it is our duty to thank, praise, pay tribute, glorify, exalt, honour, bless, extol, and acclaim Him who performed all these miracles for our fathers and for us. He brought us forth from slavery to freedom, from grief to joy, from mourning to festivity, from darkness to great light, and from servitude to redemption. Let us, therefore, recite a new song before Him! Hallelujah!” (Set Cup down, again and read responsively (as done by the temple choir during Passover), the Great Hallel - Psalm 136)

PSALMS OF THANKSGIVING

Read Psalm 136

Leader: Praise Yahweh. Praise, O servants of Yahweh, praise the name of Yahweh. All: Let the name of Yahweh be praised, both now and forevermore. Leader: From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of Yahweh is to be praised. All: Yahweh is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Leader: Who is like Yahweh our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, All: Who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? Leader: He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; All: He seats them with princes, with the princes of their people. Leader: He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. All: Praise Yahweh.

TRADITIONAL SONG DAYEINU

(It would have been enough)

The Israelites said if God had only delivered them from Egypt, It would have been enough. That is, it would have been sufficient. This is a traditional song of thanksgiving for the deliverance of the Exodus. Leader “We Would Have Been Satisfied - (all recite) (repeat) Had He only brought us out of Egypt, it would have been enough! (repeat) Had He only given us the Sabbath, it would have been enough! (repeat) Had He only given us the Torah, it would have been enough! (repeat) Had He only given us Y'shua, it would have been enough!

(Take the second cup to drink the remainder left in the cup)
Let us praise Yahweh together for His great salvation and drink the second cup - the Cup of Deliverance!

All: "Blessed are you, Yahweh our God, King of the universe, who makes the fruit of the vine”. (Drink the second cup)

RACHATZ - CEREMONIAL WASHING

(OR FOOTWASHING SERVICE)

Please pass the bowl around the table as prayer is made. Father we bless You and praise Your holy Name, we thank you for Your salvation and the washing of regeneration that comes in obedience to Your Word. Wash over our lives now and cleanse us from the filth of this world that has clung to us in Y'shua's Name.

YACHATZ - THE BREAKING OF BREAD

Token of the covenant

(Two pieces of unleavened Bread are used to symbolise the two mighty acts of redemption. In this part of the Seder, one portion is left whole on the table and the other is taken and broken into two pieces, one larger than the other. The large piece is wrapped in a cloth until later)

These two pieces of Unleavened bread represent the two acts of redemption which Yahweh has ordained for His people. The first piece of Unleavened bread represents the deliverance of Israel as a nation in the exodus from Egypt. The second piece is used as a representation of Israel's future hope of redemption through the Messiah. I am taking this second whole piece and breaking a portion from it to represent the Messiah, which is put away to return at the end of the meal, thus symbolising that the redemption through Messiah would take place in two phases, the second at a later time. This is called the Afikomen (Break off large piece and wrap in a cloth) The bread left on the table is called Lehem Oni - 'the bread of affliction' . Traditionally the leader of the Seder, as he broke the bread, said 'This is the bread of affliction which our fathers ate in the land of Egypt'. When Y'shua broke the bread He instituted a new observance of the Passover with Himself as the sacrificial lamb. He said, `This is - My body which is given for you' (Luke 22:19). When Y'shua broke Bread on the night of His betrayal it represented what would happen the next day at the Passover feast, when He offered His body as the “Bread of Life,” broken, pierced and wounded, bearing our sins on the tree. As we eat it, we enter symbolically into the covenant which He established through this emblem. He was afflicted/wounded for our transgressions and bruised/crushed for our iniquities and "the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." (Isa 53:4-5 NKJV) He was broken as the Unleavened Bread, He arose as the Firstfruits from the grave to come again for His people and complete their redemption. In His Second Coming, He will return as the One represented by the larger portion of the second piece of bread which has been called the Afikomen – 'the Coming One'. This speaks of His return in glory to conquer His enemies and take His beloved bride to Himself. The best portion is yet to come! This last piece, (hold up) the Afikomen, is set aside in expectation of the redemption yet to come through the Messiah and eaten after the meal before the third cup. (Place the Afikomen under cover)

MATZAH & BITTER HERBS

The Blessing of the Unleavened Bread

HAMOTSI - Blessing the Bread Y'shua said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst".. “ and the bread also which I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh" (John 6:32; 48-51). "As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also shall live because of Me” (John 6:57-59). Let's all say together: Blessed are you, Yahweh our God, King of the universe, Who has given us the Bread of Life and commanded us to live by every word which proceeds out of the mouth of God. (Leader breaks the Bread and passes the plate to be distributed around the table) MAROR - The Bitter Herbs The leader picks up the horseradish/or bitter greens and prays Blessed art Thou, Lord God, King of the universe, Who has sanctified us in Your commandments and has commanded us to eat the bitter herbs. "With unleavened bread and bitter herbs, they shall eat the Passover sacrifice."

THE CHAROSET, the sweet apple mixture, has the same color as the bricks the Israelites made for Pharaoh. It reminds us that because of the hope we have in Y'shua the most bitter experiences and suffering can be turned into something sweet. Let us now eat what is called the "Hillel Sandwich" named after one of the famous rabbis in the time of Y'shua. You break one piece of unleavened bread and dip it in the bitter herbs. Then you break another piece and dip it into the sweet apple mixture. Combine both pieces into a "sandwich" and eat it. [Leader illustrates it for everyone.]

KORECH - The Hillel Sandwich This was a sandwich made of two pieces of unleavened bread and bitter herbs dipped in the sweet charoset. This sandwich was eaten with Lamb during temples times in Jerusalem and named after Rabbi Hillel. It is still the custom today to give this dipped sop (without lamb) with affection to a loved one.

SHULCHAN ORECH - THE FESTIVAL MEAL

"It is Yahweh's Passover" Numbers 28:17
"So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to Yahweh." Let us celebrate the goodness of God's salvation in the Passover and enjoy this meal.

BAREICH - GRACE AFTER THE MEAL

Let us give thanks to Yahweh for the festive meal we have enjoyed. May the name of Yahweh be blessed from this time forth and forever. We praise You, our Abba, from whose abundance we have partaken. We praise You, O Yahweh our God, our Saviour and our King who gives bread to all flesh, for Your lovingkindness endures forever.

TZAFON - EATING THE AFIKOMEN

After the destruction of the temple Judaism incorporated the early messianic tradition of the Afikomen to be a substitute for the lamb in the ceremony which was the final food of the Seder feast. However they did not identify with it as the buried and risen Messiah. The Afikomen is a symbolic type of the death and resurrection of Y'shua where the bread of affliction is wrapped in grave clothes as it were, to come forth at the end of the feast as the resurrected body of the Messiah. (Take the Afikomen and pass it around the table) This represents the resurrection life of Y'shua which He has imparted to us. Y'shua said, “Do this in remembrance of Me” (1 Cor. 11:24). We eat the bread as a renewal of our participation in the communion of His body as part of the sacrificial meal that He instituted in the new covenant as a shadow of the Marriage Supper in the kingdom. We thank you Father for sending Y'shua to die for our sins and become the Bread of Life to us through the Eternal Spirit. Amen We eat the Afikomen! - His body which is given for us.

CUP 3 THE CUP OF REDEMPTION

"I will redeem you" Representing His shed blood for our sins

This is the third cup of the Seder which symbolizes the blood of the Passover lamb. "Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, 'This is the blood of the covenant that Yahweh has made with you in accordance with all these words.' - Exodus 24:8 "Behold, days are coming," declares Yahweh, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, .. .. "But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days," declares Yahweh, "I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people" (Jeremiah 31:31-34). This cup symbolizes the spiritual redemption found in Messiah's sacrifice wherein He imparted His Spirit to us.

Y'shua said, "This cup is the new covenant in My Blood, which is shed for you." Luke 22:20 NKJV

Y'shua told the disciples that His blood was to seal the new covenant to which the prophets had looked forward, a covenant which would inaugurate and seal a greater redemption than that from Egypt. We are entering into a blood covenant with Y'shua and with one another in taking this cup. Paul said, “Let a man examine himself” and so let him eat the bread which we did before the meal and drink this cup, for, “whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of Yahweh, unworthily [or, in an unworthy manner -- that is, in a wrong spirit and attitude, not truly surrendered to God and following Y'shua the Messiah, but in a rebellious spirit, or holding resentments and grudges against others], shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord." In other words, since Y'shua died for our sins, and shed His blood for us, thus forgiving us of all our iniquities, we must also forgive those who have wronged us or sinned against us. If we don't, then the sacrifice of Y'shua cannot apply to us, and we would be eating and drinking "unworthily." We must be obedient to Y'shua, and yielded to Him and His Word, if we are to partake of the Passover. And, we must forgive those who have sinned against us or hurt us (Matt.6:l4-l5; l8:2l-35).

Leader should pray that He would bless and guide everyone to partake of the cup worthily, and thank God for the precious blood of His Passover Lamb who gave His all for us, that we might have eternal life. (allow time for personal meditation) Leader: Let us all stand and take the cup and each thank Y'shua for the new covenant in His blood! (Matthew 1:21) Just as the blood of the lamb brought salvation in Egypt, so it is only the atoning blood of Messiah that can provide salvation for us.

Blessing "We praise You, our Father, our King, our Sovereign God, through Y'shua the Messiah, for Your great salvation in blessing us with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly realms because we belong to Your dear Son. We thank you that you loved us and chose us in Messiah to be holy and without fault in His eyes before the foundation of the world. We thank You for Your unchanging plan to adopt us into Your family through Y'shua the Messiah by purchasing us and redeeming us from the hand of the enemy. For this we give praise, glory and honour to You our glorious God." (Ephesians 1:3-10; 13,14 NLT) We drink the Cup.

CHAGIGAH - THE OFFERING

Ministering to the Saints in Jerusalem

This is called the "Chagigah," which is a voluntary peace offering. The apostolic leaders decreed that it should be given to the saints in Jerusalem. (Prayer offered for the peace of Jerusalem: “may they prosper who love you" - Psalm 122)

HALLEL - PSALMS OF PRAISE

The final part of the Seder is the reciting/singing of the second half of the Hallel psalms, which is Psalms 115 - 118, or parts thereof. This is the traditional ending of the Passover Seder. “We will bless Yahweh from this time and forever, Halleluyah!” (Psalm 115:18) “Praise Yahweh, all you nations! Laud Him all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of Yahweh endures forever. Praise Yahweh!” Psalm 117 “Give thanks to God for He is good, His kindness endures forever. Yahweh is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. You are my God and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You.” (Psalm 118:1, 14, 28)

CUP 4 THE CUP OF GLORIFICATION

"I will take you as My own"

He brought us out of the world as a called out people (1st cup). He rescued us from bondage to sin (second cup) He redeemed us with outstretched arms on the Cross (third cup). In Exodus 6:7 we see the Fourth Cup..... "I will take you as My people (called out ones) and I will be your God."

Y'shua said He would drink this cup with us in the kingdom of God at the marriage supper, for which we wait and celebrate, and proclaim His death until He returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Therefore, this is also the Cup of Hope looking forward to the restoration and fulfilment of all things. Y'shua said, "In My Father's house are many mansions, If it were not so I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you, And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am there you may be also" John 14:2,3 "As the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you, abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. This is My commandment that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15: 9,13 The unfinished part of the marriage agreement covenanted with His Beloved, was for the heavenly Bridegroom to go and prepare the Bridal chamber ready to take His betrothed Bride. Then, when all is prepared He will come again and at the marriage supper we shall drink that fourth cup, the Cup of Praise, to celebrate and consummate the marriage union. “And we shall be His People ..... and He shall be our God”. (Rev.20:3) While this cup is that of our final redemption, it is also the "cup of judgement" for the rebellious and disobedient who do not obey the message of His salvation (Rev.11:15-18; Matt.24:30-31; Rev.19:11-20)

Let us lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of Yahweh as we drink this fourth cup with the affirmation “Maranatha”, the old Aramaic word meaning 'O Lord, come' (I Cor. 16:22) as did the early church. Let's say it together as we drink the cup. Maranatha! Until He Comes!

NIRTZAH - CONCLUSION OF THE SEDER

We look forward to that day when the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdom of our Messiah and He shall reign for ever and ever (Rev.11:15) and we'll join the heavenly throng saying, "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing for You, Yahweh our God are worthy of honour and praise, glory and dominion and power unto You for ever, Amen" Rev 5:12-13 Blessed be Your holy name forever and ever Amen. And we will be with Him in the New Jerusalem. He will be our God and we will be His people forever more. (Revelation 21:1-4)] And He will wipe away every tear and the former things will pass away. Maranatha! Amen! In closing we call out to You Yahweh, our Lord and our God, to have compassion, upon us, Your people, upon Jerusalem Your holy city, and on Zion the dwelling place of Your glory. Give us Your everlasting joy to ascend her heights and restore Your holy city to Your anointed before Whom every knee will bow and every tongue confess, that He is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Amen! The grace of our Lord, Y'shua the Messiah be with you all. Amen. (Rev. 21:9-11; 22:12-13; 17; 20-21)

The Seder of the Passover is now complete. We have observed this night as You have instructed us to do throughout our generations, according to the laws and customs we have received. Amen!
