CHANUKKAH

Channukah is a feast that is not recorded in the scriptures as it was instituted in the 400 years prior to the common era when Israel was without a prophetic voice to the nation and as a result, no scriptural accounts were written.

The institution of the Feast was the result of the overthrow of Antiochus Epiphanes, an Antichrist type, who desecrated the temple and the offerings and persecuted the people and prevented them from observing Torah.

He was overthrown by the efforts of the Maccabees and when the temple was cleansed there was insufficient oil to keep the Menorah burning until more could be made.

Yahweh God performed a miracle and the oil lasted the eight days which was then proclaimed as the Festival of Lights of the Feast of Dedication.

Y'shua is mentioned going to the Feast of Dedication in John 10:22.
