In addition to the Lagrangian description of the system, the Hamiltonian description can also be used.

The Hamiltonian ${\displaystyle {\mathcal {H}}}$ can be constructed as follows

${\displaystyle {\mathcal {H}}=\sum _{n}p_{n}{\dot {q}}_{n}-{\mathcal {L}}}$

Where ${\displaystyle p}$ is the momentum, ${\displaystyle q}$ is the position, and ${\displaystyle {\mathcal {L}}}$ is the Lagrangian.
