About Gautama Buddha


Buddha was born in current Nepal in the year 566 B.C. at Lumbini. His father was Raja Shuddhodhan and her mother Mahadevi. His father consulted many coart astrologers to predict his sons future. He was born a Shakya tribal prince and his birth name was Siddhartha Gautama. He was schooled to be a secular leader. He became the founder of the Buddhist religion. His mother died soon after the child birth so he was brought up by his aunt and step mother.
