Impulse can be defined as Force x Time (i.e. the magnitude of a force multiplied by the time it acts for), and is measured in Ns (newton seconds).

If an impulse is applied to a body, the impulse is equal to the change in momentum of the object. This produces the impulse-momentum equation: Ft = mv - mu.
